OVERVIEW OF THE PROPOSED SETTLEMENT

IMPORTANT UPDATE: On April 5, 2016, The Magistrate Judge entered a Report and Recommendation that recommended granting Plaintiffs’ Motion for Final Approval of Settlement and Plaintiffs’ Motion for an Award of Attorney’s Fees, Reimbursement of Expenses, and Service Awards. On April 22, 2016, the court entered Judgment approving the Settlement; however, on April 26, 2016, one of the objectors to the settlement filed an appeal. If you purchased Extended Download Service for Norton Products or Norton Download Insurance between January 23, 2005 and March 10, 2011, you may be eligible to receive a payment from a class action settlement and your rights will be affected by the settlement.

The lawsuit alleges that Defendants violated consumer protection laws and the common law – specifically, that Digital River violated the Minnesota Consumer Fraud Act, and that Symantec violated California’s Unfair Competition Law and Consumer Legal Remedies Act, by failing to disclose to Class members that free alternative methods to redownload purchased software existed.

Your legal rights are affected whether you act or do not act. Please read the information on this website or the Notice carefully.
